Deven Wheeler

Deven Patrick Wheeler, 18, of Longville, passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family. Deven will be remembered for his kind heart, outgoing personality, love for snowboarding and fishing, and his skills in woodworking.

Deven is survived by his parents, Todd and Laura Wheeler; his siblings: Dylan Wheeler and Jessica, Alyssa Wheeler and Carter, Ella Wheeler and Jackson, Andrew and Becca Wheeler, Steven Wheeler and Sarah, Brandon and Vicky Wheeler, Travis and Rachel Wheeler, Ryan, Leah, Finnley, Jamison, Allison, Autumn, and Blake; his grandparents: Ellie, Roger and Susan, John and Jan, Ginny; and his nieces and nephews: Elizabeth, Harper, Clara, Mason, Scarlett, Oliver, Ava, and Lucas.

Deven was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Eleanore and Helen, as well as his grandfather, Kenn.

Deven always made time to meet up with those he loved and cared for and could be counted on for a memorable time. He had a great passion for snowboarding at Mount Ski Gull, where he felt free carving up the slopes. He also loved snowmobiling, fishing, and playing video games with friends. Deven was loved for many things, including his creative mind, which was perhaps most evident in his incredible woodworking skills. Recently, he was able to put those skills to use in building his house. Deven had a heart of gold. He was a fearless protector of his sisters and those near to him. Deven was greatly loved and will be forever missed and always in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, a scholarship will be established to provide financial assistance to ensure children can enjoy the hills of Mount Ski Gull as much as Deven did, regardless of their financial situation.
Celebration of life will be Saturday December 30th at 12 pm at Salem Lutheran Church. Visitation begins at 11 am with fellowship and lunch following the service.
