Floyd Nickel

Floyd William Nickel, age 91, of Pequot Lakes, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018, at Fairview Ridges Hospital, Burnsville, MN. He was born to William and Leona Nickel on April 13, 1927, in Pequot Lakes. Floyd served in the U.S. Navy during both WWII and Korea. He was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes. Floyd was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting fishing and being out in the woods. He was generous, big-hearted, always willing to lend a helping hand and was a devoted husband to his wife, Millie, for 43 years. Floyd will be greatly missed by his family.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Millie. He is survived by his children, Linda Fink (Jim), William Nickel (Jodi); grandchildren: Christine Carlson (Alex), Katie Brennan (Sean), Marc Fink, Noah Nickel, Nate Nickel; brothers, Donald Nickel, Jim Nickel (Sandy); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Services will be 11 AM on Friday, December 21, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pequot Lakes Cemetery.
