Iris Cromett

Iris M. Cromett (Engel), of Pine River, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. She was born May 8, 1920, in Minneapolis to Jacob C. and Mabel Watry Engel, the fourth of seven children.
A resident of Boynton Beach, Florida for the past 25 years, Iris spent summers in the Pine River area. She lived in Brooklyn Park, MN, for about 20 years after spending the first 25 years of her marriage in Pine River. While living in Pine River, she was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, participating in the Ladies Aid, Altar Guild and choir. In Boynton Beach, FL, she was active in the Tropical Breezes Homeowners Association and past chairwoman of their annual fashion show.
Iris is survived by her son, C.W. Bill Cromett, Jr. (Jackie) of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Colleen J. Moser (Gary) of Pine River; six grandchildren: John Cromett (Cathy) of Portland, OR, Mark Cromett (Sherry) of Seattle, WA, Jill Moser Pritchard (Jim) of St. Paul, MN, Matthew Moser (Lynne) of St. Paul, MN, Joseph Moser (Jen) of Austin, TX, Catherine Moser Klugherz (Steve) of St. Paul, MN; eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, C.W. Bill Cromett; her parents; five sisters: Elaine Cline, Marjorie Peine, Geraldine Stimmler, Gwendolyn Maxson, Beverly Langley; and brother, Donald Engel.
The family prefers memorials to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Brainerd Lakes Affiliate.
