Karen Jensen

Karen A. Jensen, 80, of Nisswa, MN died February 16, 2019 in Hills Crossing Senior Living following a short illness.

Karen Jensen was born Karen Arleen Johnson in Minneapolis. She attended nursing school. She worked as a realtor closer, book keeper, and business owner of Movies to Go, and Brainerd Disposal. She was a volunteer EMT for Gull Lake Ambulance, and Ski Gull Ski Patrol. Her passions were figure skating, long blade skating with Twin Cities long blade club, downhill skiing, and singing in various choirs and plays. She loved her extended family at Carefree in Winter Haven, Florida.

She is survived by her partner James Beaulieu, East Gull Lake, MN; son Randy Benson, San Antonio, TX; son Brad (Peggy) Benson, St Louis Park, MN; a daughter, Pam Benson (Wayne Fjerstad) Rochester, MN; and a sister, Donna Carpenter, Golden Valley, MN; Grandchildren: Candice Benson, Nick Benson, Leo Benson.

A special thanks to her caregivers at Hills Crossing Senior Center in Nisswa, Good Samaritan Society hospice, and to Dr. Jennifer Mahling-Stadum in Brainerd.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
