Lola Butcher

August 6, 1930 — January 14, 2019

Lola Marie Butcher, age 88, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019, at Golden Horizons Assisted Living in Crosslake. She was born to John and Odella Beikler on August 6, 1930, in Minneapolis. Lola and her husband, Loyle, owned and operated Echo Bay Resort on Lake Bertha from 1957 to 1982. Lola did a lot of volunteer work in the area, especially at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was a great homemaker and enjoyed reading, crocheting and sewing.

Lola is survived by her son, Chuck Butcher (Yvonne) of Pequot Lakes; daughters: Gail Schultz (Larry) of Pequot Lakes, Rene Morrisette (Cal) of South Dakota, Karen LeBrun (Al) of Florida; and grandchildren, Aaron and Jennifer Schultz. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loyle; and brother, John, Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM on Saturday, January 26, at St. Alice Catholic Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Pequot Lakes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, PO Box 759, Pequot Lakes, MN 56472 or Golden Horizons Assisted Living, 13631 East Shore Rd., Crosslake, MN 56442.
