Norma grew up in Manchester, Kansas and acquired the nickname Sparky as a young girl with much grit and spunk. After she graduated from high school she moved to Green River, Wyoming where she met her husband, Clyde. They got married in Sisseton, South Dakota and moved to a place on Rush Lake Bay on the Whitefish Chain on or about 1947.

Norma enjoyed the plain and simple life. She loved to surround herself with the beautiful flowers that she grew in her garden, especially the gladiolas. Norma never tired of the birds, especially when a cardinal came to visit. Hummingbirds were another one of her favorites. Gardening was a big part of her and Clyde’s life. They named their place Clyde and Norma’s Evergreen Gardens. People came from all over the area to enjoy their garden. Summer was a very busy time at their place. For relaxation Norma would enjoy a quiet time fishing for sunnies and crappies. She also enjoyed watching the Vikings and the Twins play. Norma was a great sport and was game for mostly anything and she had a glow to this day that will always be here.

Funeral services will be 1PM on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial Services will be in Pinewood Cemetery, Crosslake between 2:30 and 3:00 on Saturday.
