Raymond Myers

November 11, 1923 — June 7, 2019

Raymond Edward Myers was born November 11, 1923, in Woodworth, North Dakota, to Willis and Bertha Myers. He passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2019.

Ray met and then married Delores on August 21, 1948, in Pequot Lakes, MN. After five years Ray took a position at Boeing Aircraft Company in Renton, Washington. In 1960 they moved back to the family farm in Pequot Lakes. Ray took the position of Boiler Operator and Night Custodian at Pequot Lakes School. He built, owned and operated “Myers Field” airport. Ray established the flying club which introduced many people to the love of flying. On his farm he enjoyed raising rare breeds of cattle and many other animals. In the mid-eighties he retired from the school and continued his love of farming and flying until the age of 90. Every year since the 1960’s Ray made his annual trek to Oshkosh, Wisconsin to take in the annual air show.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; brothers, Jack and Benny; sisters, Maybelle, Margaret and Dorothy; son-in-law, Wallace Andersen; and granddaughter, Shelby Myers. He is survived by his 7 children, 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the Good Samaritan Homecare and Hospice. A special thank you to nurses, Mariah, Joni and Ashley along with Dr. Bartel and Dr. Gladden.

Services will be 11 AM on Tuesday, June 11, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
