Yvonne Switajewski

Yvonne Irene (Hinnenkamp) Switajewski, age 60, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2018 surrounded by her family. She fought a courageous battle against breast cancer for 5 years until the Lord called her home. Yvonne was born May 20, 1958 to Rose and Hubert Hinnenkamp in Glenwood, MN. She graduated from Brooten High School and later went on to Nursing School at Bemidji State University and graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Yvonne married Todd Switajewski on June 9, 1979. She worked as a compassionate and caring nurse for 32 years and most recently as a nurse surveyor for the MN Department of Health. Yvonne was dedicated and motivated to her faith, family, work and friends. She enjoyed being in her garden, being with family and friends, travelling with her husband and sons and volunteering at church. Yvonne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, nurse and friend. She always had a positive attitude and brightened people’s spirits of those who were around her.

Yvonne is survived by her husband, Todd Switajewski; her sons, Troy (Elizabeth) Switajewski of Princeton, MN, Tyler (Ariel) Switajewski of Brainerd, MN; and six grandchildren that she loved dearly. Her siblings include, Debbie (Ken) Beste of Sauk Centre, MN, Bonnie (Duane) Winter of Brooten, MN, Bruce (Lois) Hinnenkamp of Brooten, MN, and Karla Edenloff. She has many nieces and nephews who she adored.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents Rose and Hubert Hinnenkamp, and brother Gary Hinnenkamp.
