Annette Hagie

November 11, 1933 — April 24, 2021

Annette Beulah Hagie, age 88, of Pine River, passed away on April 24, 2021 at Essential Health-Duluth. She was born November 11, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI to Lillian Kowalewski and Arthur Norman. She grew up in Milwaukee and attended Saint Elizabeth Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Rufus King High School. Always industrious and hard-working, Nettie, as she was called by family and friends, became an assistant manager of a large bakery in Milwaukee at the age of 17. She excelled in business, at one time being a manager in Tupperware.

Nettie resided in Wisconsin until the 1980’s, when she moved to Bemidji, where she opened a small thrift/flea market store in 1986. In 1994, she opened a store in Emily called Lotsa Stuff. In 2003 she moved to Pine River where she resided until her death. Between 2003 and 2021, the store moved into five different locations in Pine River. The name Lotsa Stuff store was retained. Nettie always enjoyed meeting people and loved having the opportunity to do just that while operating her store. She is remembered with warmth by many friends who described her as a very caring person.

Nettie is survived by her sons, Brian Hagie of Moorhead, MN and Jason Hagie (Amanda) and grandson, Blake, of Beulah, MI; sister, Betsy, of Bemidji; nieces in Bemidji and Detroit Lakes; friend, Daryl Rudquist, and other dear friends in the Pine River area.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, June 27, at 2 p.m. at the New Life Community Church (formerly Faith Assembly of God) in Pine River.
