Dwight Johnson, age 68, of Pine River, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019 in Minneapolis, Minnesota surrounded by his family. He was born May 25, 1951 to Melvin and Sally Johnson in Brainerd.

After graduation from Pine River High School in 1969, Dwight proudly served in the United States Marine Corp, stationed at Fort Pendleton in California. Returning home, he worked at the family logging business and was a Rural Mail Carrier, retiring after 40 years.

Dwight was very competitive playing softball, cards and board games. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching his kids and grandkids play. Dwight umpired for the men’s softball league for many years. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Debbie; son, Chad Johnson (Diana); daughters, Melissa Burns (Nathan), Alicia Lorensen (Dean); daughter-in-law, Angie Johnson; grandchildren: Taylor (Ross), Trevor and Tierney Johnson, Ryan and Tiffany Johnson, Ariana, Autumn and Ava Burns, Cameron Lorensen; great granddaughter, Madelyn Seekins; brothers: Dwayne Johnson (Kathy), Vernon Johnson (Deb), Danny Johnson, Burt Johnson; sisters, Joyce Lael (Jim), Jean Price (Rick); uncle and aunt, Wayne and Vera Leek; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Sally Johnson; son, Ryan Johnson; brothers, Alvin, Ronald and Merlyn Johnson; sister, Mary Larson; and nephew, Ricky Price.

Services will be 11 AM on Friday, December 13, at Pleasant Hill Community Church, rural Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be 4 to 7 PM on Thursday at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
