Hazel Rowe

August 22, 1928 — June 18, 2020

Hazel Evelyn Rowe passed away from heart failure at the age of 91 at Saint Mary's hospital in Duluth, MN on June 18th, 2020. She lived her last months in the care of her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathy Halverson, in Brainerd, MN.

Hazel was born on August 22, 1928, in Pequot Lakes, MN to Hilmar and Zela Sata. Hazel loved to travel to Texas in the winters and went on many cruises.

She loved to play golf and worked for many years at Whitefish Golf Course in Pequot Lakes, MN. Hazel loved to play many games with family including cribbage and the dice game 10,000. She had a fun-loving personality and cared deeply for her family and friends. She served as President at the American Legion Auxiliary Pequot Lakes and proudly carried the American Flag for the 4th of July parade in Nisswa, MN for over a decade.

Hazel is survived by her two sons, Michael (Kathy) Halverson of Brainerd, MN and Brian ( Debbie) Halverson of Pequot Lakes, MN; her granddaughters: Erika (Kevin) Zetah of Stone Lake, WI, Michele (Jarad) Halverson of Saint Michael, MN, Holly Halverson of Chicago, IL and Krystal Halverson of Brainerd, MN; great grandchildren: Cole (Nikki) Schmidt of Carrington, ND, Christine and Madalyn of Stone Lake, WI, Mikayla and Lyllian of Saint Michael, MN, and Arianna and Katrina of Brainerd, MN; first cousins, Linda Mimm of Pequot Lakes, MN, Joyce Haugland of Cloquet, MN; and many nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by husbands, Charles Halverson, Francis Rowe, and Emery Nelson; son, Jeffery Halverson; daughter, Debra Halverson; and granddaughter, Andrea Halverson Schmidt.

She will be missed by so many.

In lieu of flowers and memorials please make a donation to the American Lung Association in memory of Hazel.

A celebration of life will be held for both Hazel Evelyn Rowe and Andrea Halverson Schmidt on July 11, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Jenkins Cemetery with cookies and coffee following at the American Legion in Pequot Lakes, MN.
