Patricia Invie

It is with profound sadness that the family of Patricia Louise Invie or “Pat” as she was known to friends, announce her peaceful passing on Friday, September 24, 2021, at the age of 88 years. She was the daughter of Melvin and Norma Rasten, born on August 11, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN, and married LeRoy Invie of Minneapolis in 1953. In 1971 they moved their family from Crystal, MN to Backus when they purchased Ada Pine Beach Resort. LeRoy and Pat owned and operated the resort together for 42 years and she continued to operate the resort with the help from her son, Gene, for the last 5 years after LeRoy’s death. Pat worked for 29 years as a Secretary at the Backus Public School and served as Treasurer on the Ponto Lake Township for 33 years.

Pat enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting with her resort family, campfires, her dog “Bo”, driving around on her golf cart, playing board games and Bingo.

Left to cherish Pat’s memory are her children: Debbie Zaffke (Kendall), Gene Invie (Patti), Denise Invie (Ronnie Godwin) and Danielle Lawrence (Steve); 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, LaDes Sauter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 63 years, LeRoy.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Backus. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
