Thomas Kurz

Thomas G. Kurz, 73 of Brainerd, MN passed away on June 2, 2022, at Essentia Health - St. Joseph’s Medical Center. He was born on September 27, 1948, in Brainerd, MN and lived there his whole life.

Tom retired after serving 20 years in the United States Army Reserve. He was a baker for 60 years and owned his own business, the “Sweet Shoppe” for 16 of the years. Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering on projects and spending time with friends, family and grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Stephanie; his son, Christopher of Minot, ND; his daughter, Jennifer (Bob) Ross of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren: Jesse, Chase, Hannah and Hunter; his great grandson, Braysen; his brother, Jeff (Bobbi) Kurz of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Melford and Grace; and his stepmother, Leona DeRosier.

Services will be 11 AM on Friday, June 10, at St. Alice Catholic Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Graveside service will be 11 AM on Tuesday, June 14, at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Camp Ripley.
